Prepping for Summer
If there's anything that will get me excited for the summer its the BEACH. I have definitely changed my beach ways over the past years - lathering up on SPF 50 instead of baby oil like my high school days. However, the feeling of the sand on my toes and the fresh salty water is still a favorite of mine. Kicking off each summer begins with a family trip to Cape Cod. I've been going since I was born and we've created so many fun traditions with my family, as well as my cousins.
This lobster crewneck from Wooden Ships embodies everything I love about the summer. While I don't actually EAT lobster (or any seafood for that matter), I do love all things nautical. Give me red, white and blue... and I'm truly you're all American Girl! You can see that I styled this sweater with shorts over my bathing suit, but you really can dress up with some white skinny jeans or even over a bandeau, too. The fabric is super soft and warm for when the sun goes down. Sidenote: It comes in two other colors besides navy!
If you're looking for something to rock for Memorial Day, there are a few other options like this Star design or Americana v-neck. Both are currently in my basket just waiting for me to pull the trigger. AND for you little babes, I've scored my followers 15% off their purchase when you use code KLASSICALLYKAYTEE15.
I've blogged about Wooden Ships in a previous post. I was originally introduced to this line through Aine's Boutique (which y'all know I love). This is a family owned and operated business started in Bali. You also know that I am a HUGE supported of small businesses - local and afar. One thing about this company that truly amazes me is the investment in their employees. Having started a factory for production in Bali to ensure all the company would be run fair and ethically, they also provide FREE HEALTHCARE to the workers. That is so impressive!
Needless to say... you know where you can find me this summer... sans lobster roll. #FishAreFriends
Thank you to Sarah Surette for the amazing photos! Be sure to check out her work if you're local.
